Party Political Conferences

Following the successful OFCOM lobbying video produced for the RNID Parliamentary Unit we were commissioned to make a new video and CD to inform politicians and lobbyists at the recent Labour, Liberal Democrat and Conservative Party Conferences that small changes in the workplace make a big difference.

'The Workplace of the Future’ was produced to increase awareness of the value of a diverse workforce and to highlight the benefits that inclusive technology and changed attitudes can contribute to make workplaces accessible to people with all kinds of disabilities.

Mark Morris, RNID’s Head of Parliamentary and European Affairs commissioned the video and said; "Working with Big Umbrella is a pleasure. They are reliable, professional and understand our aims and needs. They produce great, impactful, visual material while remaining flexible and always meet even the tightest deadline. This is another successful project and we are delighted with the results."

The video profiles four diverse disabled people featuring their jobs, the technology they use and the difference that small adjustments have made to their working lives.

Liz is a deafblind PhD student using Braille readers, computers and scanners to conduct her research, Andrew is a computer programmer who has worked with his employer to make an old building accessible for his wheelchair. Mike is developing new style mobile phones that will allow total access for himself and other blind users and David would have lost his job as a train driver without the huge advantages provided by his digital hearing aids that have been embraced by his employers.

Big Umbrella provided the large format digital photos for the the specially designed exhibition stand and the video was shown via CD on an Apple iMAC and on a continuous video.
